Eyecon Internship Program
Eyecon has been able to accommodate a number of interns and continues to seek students to participate in the Eyecon Internship Program. Eyecon works very closely with educational institutions such as Griffith University, QANTM, and Navitas to identify students who show high potential and who will fit within the team here at Eyecon.
Eyecon tries to establish an internship team which will usually be comprised of two to six individuals. This simulates the working environment of Eyecon and creates a team with varying skills and abilities, for example a team could be comprised of individuals with skills in such areas as programming, 2D or 3D modelling/texturing, animation and game design. The group will then focus on commercially viable projects with the aim of releasing them into the field. An experienced project manager is assigned to the internship group who is responsible for managing the overall project. This ensures students are given the necessary orientation into Eyecon, training and that the project delivery time frames are met.
During the Internship Program, Eyecon actively assess the interns based on their natural ability, enthusiasm, communication skills, professionalism, work ethic, and their long term ability to learn and improve. The Internship Program also serves the purpose of allowing the intern to gain invaluable work experience, learn new and unique skills and get to know Eyecon as a company and as a potential place to work. Therefore, throughout the program, Eyecon aims to identify interns who fit within the culture and who show promise of becoming a member of the team through the Eyecon Graduate Program. This has been successful in the past with a number of interns going on to participate in the Graduate Program and moving onto become a qualified Eyecon employee. However, it is not a requirement that students participate in the Internship Program in order to participate in the Eyecon Graduate Program. Eyecon Graduate Program
Eyecon has an extensive history of hiring and training graduates. Eyecon has hired and trained graduates in numerous areas including C++, Java and Flash development, 2D and 3D art, network engineering, systems support, and quality assurance. Some of our graduates have stayed with us for in excess of six years as they progress through and grow with the company, gaining both responsibility and salary increases.
Eyecon’s Graduate Program is unique and incomparable to that of other, larger organisations within the industry. We are able to offer our graduates a wealth of experience in a variety of areas due to the extensive skill sets that our employees possess and the wide range of services that we offer our customers. In working with other employees our graduates are exposed to a number of areas, unachievable in larger companies. This ensures that the necessary skills and knowledge are transferred in order to continue to grow and develop within the company, and allows them to gain a distinctive level of experience, setting them up for future career opportunities.
